Positive Days

This is the second consecutive month where every trade exited above its entry price on a gross basis. But where August was measured and deliberate - the system proving it still worked on a cleaned universe - September was an expansion. The strategy deployed across 57 unique instruments, the widest set since the post-July cleanup, and produced positive returns every day across a Bitcoin range of more than 16%.

01 / Performance

The strategy returned +4.48% net across 29 active trading days. All 29 closed positive. This is the third time in the 2026 reporting period that every active day has been positive, and the first since May.

Trade count rose to 290 from August's 201, while symbol breadth widened from 45 to 57. The long/short split held at 92/8 by trade count. All 290 trades closed gross-profitable. One position finished net-negative after funding costs exceeded the gross gain on an extended hold. Win rate was 99.7% on a net basis and 100% before funding.

The top ten contributors accounted for 51.1% of net profit. No single symbol exceeded 12.5% of the month's return. The dispersion was notably even: the best day added +0.53%, roughly a twelfth of the month, against a median day of +0.15%. No position was open at month-end.

All returns are reported net of commissions and funding costs.

02 / Market Structure

Bitcoin gained approximately 6% in September - from $78,500 to $83,556 - but the path was anything but smooth. The high-to-low range was 16.7%, from $74,888 on September 15 to $87,397 on September 21. That range, wider than many monthly returns, was compressed into six trading days.

The month divided into three phases.

The first two weeks were a range. Bitcoin traded between $78,000 and $82,000, repeatedly rejected at $82,000 resistance. ETF flows were mixed after a heavy outflow on the first trading day, and positioning was cautious heading into a dense calendar of macro and regulatory events.

The second phase was a whipsaw around two catalysts in two days. On September 15, the Senate held a procedural vote on the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act. On September 16, the FOMC raised the federal funds rate to 3.75-4.00% - the first hike since 2023. Bitcoin dropped to $74,888 on the rate decision, then reversed sharply. By September 21, a $291 million liquidation event had squeezed remaining shorts, and Bitcoin printed its monthly high of $87,397. Spot ETF inflows accelerated through this stretch, with nine consecutive days totaling $3.1 billion.

The third phase was consolidation. Bitcoin gave back $4,000 from its peak, settling near $83,556 by month-end. A $148.7 million ETF outflow on September 30 interrupted the inflow streak but did not reverse the month's structural gains.

The strategy was most active during the second phase. The rate-hike reversal and short squeeze created dense forced-flow conditions across the derivatives market, and the system engaged broadly. September's trade count rose 44% over August's, driven almost entirely by this window.

03 / Risk & Execution

Maximum drawdown was 0.00%. Every active day closed positive, so the cumulative equity curve advanced without a single realized pullback during the month.

Profit factor was 25.82. Average leverage was 0.058x against a maximum of 0.499x. The long book's win rate was 99.6%; the short book closed all 21 trades profitably.

Strategy Observation. September's symbol count - 57 unique instruments - is the widest deployment since the post-July universe cleanup removed low-cap innovation-zone tokens from the trading set. That breadth did not come from loosening filters or re-admitting excluded names. It came from the mid-cap and large-cap universe presenting more qualifying conditions than it did in August. The system's opportunity set is a function of market structure, not of our willingness to take risk. When forced-flow events are broad and multi-directional, more instruments qualify. When conditions narrow, fewer do. September's breadth is a statement about the market environment, not a policy decision.

The since-inception maximum drawdown remains 12.42%, set in July. September did not approach it.

04 / Looking Ahead

The account ended September 2.93% below its June 30 peak. August and September together recovered roughly three-quarters of July's loss. That recovery came at normal speed, from normal operation, across two months with very different market conditions - a slow rally in August and a volatile whipsaw in September. Both produced the same outcome: steady, dispersed returns.

Twenty-one months of results now include one that lost close to ten percent and twenty that were positive. The cumulative return through September stands at +158.14%.

I have resisted saying anything about the recovery being "on track" because the system does not target a recovery. It does not know what the high-water mark was. It takes qualifying setups when they appear and stands down when they do not. That the equity curve is approaching its prior peak is a consequence of the process, not a goal the process is pursuing. If October's market produces fewer qualifying conditions, the system will trade less and return less, and that will be fine.

The system continues to operate within all defined parameters.
